I want to use tattoo machines from the beginning of "tattoo machines" to create a mosaic type picture in the shape of one of my machines! I'm hoping to collect enough images so that up close you can see details of each machine but from a distance you can only see the one machine. I'm thinking that all the pictures combined in this way will be conformative enough to satisfy the copyright issue. Penelope Umbrico inspired me for this endeavor. :)
I am intrigued by this idea and I think it is a great response to the mapping assignment. I think you may have mentioned this to me already, but where will you find your historical images? Will the final piece be in black and white or color? Penelope Umbrico is currently one of my favorite artists.

ReplyDeleteI am really excited to see this when it's finished I think it's an excellent idea and like that act that you are using what you love to do. I really like that idea that you are making one big tattoo gun out of many small ones.
